The North Atlantic shortfin mako shark population has been depleted and continues to be seriously overfished. Makos are sought for meat, fins and sport but most fishing countries impose no limits on catch. An international fisheries meeting in Morocco this November* presents a critical opportunity for 50 countries fishing in the Atlantic to change that.
We need a full ban on landing Atlantic makos before it is too late.
